The Khuzestan Hydropower Plants Installation Maintenance Company was separated from the Khuzestan Power Plant Installation and Maintenance Company, in accordance with the National Business Law and under license of the Khuzestan Water and Power Authority, through a combination of public and private shares with the sole purpose of centralizing and consolidating specialized human resources and technical skills in the field of Power Plants. In 2002, it established its main offices in the city of Ahwaz. Since March 2003, KHPIM Co. has officially commenced its activities as the sole contractor for the repairing and maintenance of the hydroelectric power stations of the Dez and Shahid Abbasspour Dams. The Company was privatized by selling its whole shares to the private sector, as per Article 44 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Iran, and has also been qualified by Presidential Division of Planning and Strategic Supervision as having Grade 1 in Energy Sector, Grade 4 in Water Sector and Grade 5 in Public Facilities Sector
