The Shahid Abbasspour Reservoir Dam and Power Plant House

The Shahid Abbasspour dam is Located 55 km northeast of the city of Masjid-I Soleiman and Approximately 490 km from the Karun river estuary. Dam construction was initiated in December 1969 and in late November 1976 the reservoir was impounded . By mid 1977 all power generating Units were in full operation.

The Shahid Abbasspour dam is a Concrete Arch dam which was designed as a multipurpose dam for the provision of downstream water demands such as those of urban use, irrigation ,industries and flood control.

 

Activities Carried out by KHEPPMC

1.       Major Overhauling of units no.2 , 3 , and 4 each with a capacity of 250 MW.

2.       Repairing the winding for the main generator of units no.1 and 3

3.       Major Overhauling of the Spillway gates mechanical components

4.       Repairing the stop locks of tunnels no.5 and no.6

5.       Preparing of the auxiliary power transformer for operations

6.       Preparing the interface for the I & C System and Remote Sensing system

7.       The Grinding of over 30 wicket gate pins

The Masjid-I-Soleiman Dam and Power house

The Masjidi-i-Soleiman Dam and hydroelectric power plant is located upon the Karun river about 25 kilometers Northeast of the city of Masjid-i-Soleiman and 26 km downstream of the Shahid Abbasspour reservoir Dam. It currently has a total power production capacity of 1000 MW which is being extended to include an additional 1000     

MW.

The Dez Dam

The Dez Dam was the first of a series of multi-purpose dams which were to be built upon the river Dez and is located approximately 20 km northeast of the city of Andimeshk .Dam  construction was initiated in 1959 and on 12th March 1962 the dam began to operate with full capacity. The main Objectives of the Project was the provision of downstream water demands such as those of urban use , irrigation , industries and flood control.

The Marun Reservoir Dam and HEPP

This Dam is constructed upon the Marun river and is located 19 Km Northeast of the city of  Behbahan . The Marun dam is a Rock fill dam with a clay core which was built with the purpose of the Controlling of torrential flows and the meeting of Irrigation water demands for 55000 hectares of Farm land in the Behbahan , Jayzan , Ramsheir and Shadegan plains and  that of  power production.

The KarunIII Dam  and Power Plant

The KarunIII dam and hydro power plant is located upon the Karun river approximately 28 km East of the city of Iezeh in the northeast of the khuzistan province at an elevation of 650 meters as The Dam is located 120 Km upstream of the Shahid Abbaspour dam ( Karun1 ) .

The dam site is 140 nautical Km from the city of Ahwaz and has been constructed upon Lime stone and Lime – Marne rock formations .The KarunIII Power station has a total installed capacity of 2000 MW and annual power production capacity of 4137 GWh and capable of supplying the necessary requirement of the National power grid. The consultants for this project were Mahab Ghods (Affiliated with the Ministry of Energy ) and a Canadian consultant , Acres International . The Sub – contractor for the Mechanical and Electrical package was FARAB Co.( Affiliated with the Ministry of Energy ) .

The KarunIII Dam is a concrete Arch Dam which is 206 meters high , with a crest Length of 378 meters and a crest width of 5.5 meters and a foundation width of 29 meters . The total volume of concrete poured has been estimated at 1.2 million cubic meters.

The Doroodzan Dam and Power house

The Fars Doroodzan Dam is located upon the river Kor , 110 Km North west of the city of Shiraz in the Fars province.

The construction of the multi – purpose dam commenced in 1966 with the aim of providing  the necessary water for irrigation , the supply of drinking water , the control of floods and the generation of power and began operations in the summer of 1971 . The Doroodzan Dam's power station is composed of 2×5.2 MW units , and produces 4 million Kw/h annually.

The Kohrang Hydroelectric Power Plant

The Kohrang Hydro Power Plant is located in the Char Mahal Bakhtiyari province , West of the city of Shahr Kord and Approximately 2 Km to The Southeast of the village of Chelgerd .The Power Plant is located upon the Northern slopes upstream the inlets to the Kohrang Tunnels no.1 and no.2 .

Constructions began in 1943 and continued up to 1948 . construction of the second tunnel began in 1966 and ended in 1985 . In 1982 the Isfahan Regional Water Authority proposed the building of a power plant which was ultimately constructed and commissioned in 1999 .

The Monj Dam and Hydropower Station

 The Monj Dam and HEPP is located approximately 70 km from the city of Iezeh upon the Iezeh- Shahr Kord road. This 75 MW HEPP lies within the boundaries of the Karun 4 Powerstation

Installation and Commissioning all main mechanical and electrical components and auxiliaries for two units of the Power station

 

The Sealing Operations of the 250 MW Turbine of the Masjid-i-Solieman HEPP

 

 

1.       The welding and reinforcing of the new  supports beneath the protection cover.

2.       The machining of the protection cover surface which had an 0.80 mm distortion

3.       The machining of the sealing ring surface which had a 1 mm distortion with its seat

4.       The manufacturing of an anti- corrosive steel wearing strip to replace the distorted and worn-out original wearing strip.

5.       The replacing of the rubber sealing strips

6.       The replacing of the corroded sealing pressure springs with anti-corrosive steel springs

 

 

   

The Karkheh Dam and Powerhouse

The Karkheh river arises from the the Southwest and Middle range of the Zagroos mountains in the West and Northwest of Iran.  After the Dez and Karun Rivers , the Karkheh river is the third largest river in Iran.

The Karkheh Dam and Powerhouse is located 21 kilometers to the Northwest of the city of Andimeshk . The project was initiated in 1991 with the excavating of a diversion tunnel and was completed  and impounded in the Winter of 1999. Full operations of the Powerhouse began in the Summer of 2003. The  Karkheh dam is an Earth type dam with a clay core.
