The
Shahid Abbasspour Reservoir Dam and Power Plant House
The Shahid Abbasspour dam is Located 55
km northeast of the city of Masjid-I Soleiman and Approximately 490 km
from the Karun river estuary. Dam construction was initiated in December
1969 and in late November 1976 the reservoir was impounded . By mid 1977
all power generating Units were in full operation.
The Shahid Abbasspour dam is a Concrete
Arch dam which was designed as a multipurpose dam for the provision of
downstream water demands such as those of urban use, irrigation
,industries and flood control.

4 each with a capacity of 250 MW.
